10. Eschatology

(1) The second coming of Jesus

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. (Matthew 24: 32-33) Summer leaves will come when the leaves of the fig tree come out. The situation is the same as Luke 17 in the days of Noah and Lot. At that time, both cases were judged by God from God. That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. (Genesis 6: 2-3)

The words about Son and daughter have many meanings. Heaven and earth, those with seeds and those without seeds etc. Both are people who believe in God. One is the Son of God, and one is the daughter of man. Today, we are sitting in the same church, but one speaks of those who follow the law of the Holy Spirit and one who is confined to the law of the Old Testament. The birth is different. One is the life (the daughter of man) from the parents, and the resurrected life (the Son of Heaven) from God. Both believe in God. It can be that the son is being that has the promise of seed and, the daughter is being that does not have the promise of seed. Noah's time tells a spiritual story, and Lot's time tells a carnal story. If you apply to today’s time, things that happen in the church in Noah's day, Lot's story is what happens in the world. Common to both is the story of adultery. At Noah's time, God warns the mixture of faith. People believe that God also follows the world, and so everyone is spiritually degraded. Today, many church members say that they are born again, and they are like the love of the world. They say that they are kept in the law of the Old Testament and follow the Holy Spirit. God said this was spiritual adultery. On the one hand, people are saying that they are born with a spiritual body, and on the other hand they are sinful bodies. So they turn the regeneration of the body into a state of mind.

 『Yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.』This does'nt means that human life become120 years. But God will judge people 120 years later. It means that All people will be judged after 120 years, so, repent and turn. But Noah cried out for 120 years, no one repented except seven of his family. So the flood came and all the people were died.

Sodom where Lot lived was where homosexuality prevailed. Homosexuality is evil that destruct the creation order. God judged Sodom by fire. Homosexuality is spreading worldwide recentary. Until the year 2019, there are 27 countries that recognize homosexuality. There are two countries, the UK and one in Mexico, which are partially recognized. which are recognized nine countries, the European Union. Countries whose nationals recognize same-sex marriage abroad are three countries including Israe. In addition to the European Union, nine countries are discussing legalization of same-sex marriage. Although Korea is not legally recognized, there has been a legislative move for sex minorities. However, we perceive that homosexuality is increasing in reality. An artificial intelligence robot is an element that can destroy creation order. There are also people who save human memories in computers and dream of eternal life. Even replication techniques using biotechnology are improving.

This situation is the same things of the parable of the fig tree. Jesus said He would come back. When is that time? And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (Matthew 24:14) There is an article posted on the Internet. According to the World Federation of Bible Society, there are 7,097 languages worldwide. The year of 2017, there are 3,324 languages that is at least a short story to be translated languages. 674 Biblical books, 1,515 New Testament books, and 1,135 short stories (pagan). The largest Bible translation ministry in the world is the Wycliffe Bible Translators in the United States. President of this mission, Bob Cresnon, has expressed his vision to complete the Bible translation in all languages untill the year 2025.

I do not know when the last time will be, but there are something to say to us. In the Bible, God says to those in the church, "Be awake," not as foolish five virgins. If you are died to the law of the Old Testment, to sin, to the world, The fruit that God wants is not formed. So God says to repent and return to the world. Repentance is not confession of sin, but death for sin and not love for the world.

(2) The millennium kingdom

The Bible say the end of the world.『And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.』(Matthew 24:14)

The Bible say that many false Christs appear at the end. People's faith is gone, people's minds become corrupted, the natural ecosystem is destroyed, the order of life is disturbed and there will be an uproar like war. Suddenly the day come.

At that time God threw Satan into the Abyss for a thousand years, the real Christ returns to this world. Christ will rule the world for a thousand years. The Bible describes that it is the recovery of Israel.(It is different from Israel's independence in 1948). When a thousand years pass, God let the Satan be released from the abyss for little while. Satan will deceive the world again.

Though sin does not occur during the millennium of Jesus' reign, when Satan deceives the world again, sin will arise. It is proved that sin is caused by Satan.

God will judge Satan at the end of the world. After God's judgment, the material world will disappear since the purpose of creation has been achieved.『By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.』(2 Peter 3:7)

When the material world disappears, new heaven and new earth appear again. The new heavens and the new earth means the kingdom of God.『as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.』(2 Peter 3:12 -13)

  
(3) The last days and the judgment of God

The end includes personal and universal things. The end of personal means the death of the body. Those who believe that the body of the past is stuck, is dead as like a shell, in other words, those who believes in the resurrection of a new body return to the kingdom of God. But those who do not believe in Jesus'resurrection go in to the resurrection of judgment.『and come out those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.』(John 5:29)
