The circumcision

『This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.』(Genesis 17:10-11),『He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.』(Genesis17:13) This was a testament of the people of God in the Old Testament times.

Circumcision is a ceremony in which an oldself is dies and becomes a covenant people of God.『Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.』(Isaiah 52:1)

God also calls for that the Israelites must to be circumcised in the mind.『And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.』 (Deuteronomy 30:6) Paul expresses『circumcision of the mind as circumcision of Christ. In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:』(Colossae 2:11) The meaning of this is to forsake themselves thoughts before the word of God. This is the expression of the obedience to God and going into Christ. This is expressed as baptism in the New Testament times.『Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.』(Romans 6:4)

 

The seed to be promised

『And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul』(Genesis 2:7), The seeds that God plant can be the spiritual body to alive the spirit. That seed is the one to be promised.『And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.』(Genesis 3:15)

Then God commanded Abraham to Circumcise. Circumcision is the ritual of taking off the body from parents and receiving the promise of seed from God. The seed of promise is Jesus Christ. God gives new life to Saint who is died on the Cross with Jesus Christ. This is baptism. 『Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.』(Romans 6:4) Those who have the seed to be promised are saved. God promised to the seed. One who does not believe in the promises of God will be judged by eternal fire. The only way to escape Judgment is having the faith to enter into Jesus Christ. This faith is belief to be crucified with Jesus.

The tree to know good and evil

『And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.』(Genesis2:7) Adam became a living soul. He isn't living spirit. God created the Garden of Eden to make Adam a spiritual being.『And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. 』(Genesis 2:8) In the garden of Eden, man became a spiritual being as the image of God because he ate the fruit of the tree of life.

God makes a covenant with Adam.『But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.』(Genesis 2:17) God gave him a method to discern good and evil. Good is an attribute to appears on eat the fruits of the tree of life. Evil is the devil. Adam could discern good and evil when he eat the fruit of the tree of life. So the devil try to remove the fruits of the good and evil. But Adam and Eve sinned against God.

『And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.』(Genesis 3:4-6)

(2) The kingdom of God as the spirit world

Human beings can not see the spiritual kingdom of God through the eyes of the flesh. God tells people about the kingdom of God through the Bible. John who was the apostle recorded in the book of Revelation the kingdom of God which he saw when he was confined in the island of Patmos. 『 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 』 (Revelation21:10-11) Jewels symbolize the suffering and the patience. And the Apostle Paul also said the experience. 『 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. 2. The kingdom of God (1) Heavens

(1) Heavens The heavens mean that there are several heavens. The first heaven is generally the atmosphere. The second heaven is outer space. Genesis (1:1) of kjv Bible say that heaven is an outer space, including the atmosphere, which is a concept against the earth. Why are niv and kjv translated differently?
